Ole’ Mexico

Justin Williams and I spent the Labor Day Weekend taking the Ole Mexican Blackbird down below the border to Monterey, Mexico.

We spent the weekend with our friend Wes Crawford and his family. Wes is a missionary with SERVE and he does pastoral training there in Monterey. We also leads worship for their church. He invited me to preach (jpg) their youth event (jpg) over the weekend and Justin played worship at the Youth event and the church service on Sunday.

Almost every meal was wrapped in a flower or corn tortilla, except for Saturday lunch where we celebrated his daughter Claire’s 3rd brithday at Peter Piper Pizza (jpg) (just like Chuck E. Cheese).

Fun Facts from the weekend:

1. 17 hour drive from Memphis to Monterey

2. 19 hour drive from Monterey to Memphis (2 hours at Customs)

3. Roads in Mexico are laid out liking tossing spaghetti noodles on the floor.

4. Mexico has the same season schedule as us, right Justin?

5. Mexico Money looks Fake.

6. Bottled Cokes are alive and well across the border for only 30 cents a bottle!
