Personal Jumbo-Tron

Okay, okay. I will let everyone chip in and buy me a jumbo-tron for my back yard.

Seriously, how amazing is this thing.  Read the description from UnCrate:

Whether you’re looking for a major upgrade to your business’ outdoor seating area or just want to host the best outdoor movie screenings around, the C Seed Outdoor LED TV($TBA) should fit the bill.

Designed by Porsche Design Studio, the C Seed boasts seven LED panels that raise and unfold in 25 seconds to create a seamless, 201-inch 16:9 display with a total of over 725,000 LEDs and a 100,000 Hz refresh rate. The screen is height-adjustable, can rotate up to 135 degrees to the left or right, and is complemented by a robust sound system featuring 6 speakers for the left and right audio channels, as well as three 700W subwoofers. A radio control, digital wireless HD video link, and glass-fiber data lines take care of getting content to the display, and should you worry about the weather, integrated wind, temperature, and laser sensors make sure everything stays safe and sound in bad weather. Wheelchair-bound Scuba Diver

Sue Austin’s Tedx talk is absolutely inspiring.

So challenged and energized watching her scuba diving video and hearing her talk about the joy she has found by where she has but her focus.

Thanks for sharing Herman.

MTR launches MTR Give

The Memphis Teacher Residency connects your generosity directly to the needs in their classroom with their new site MTR Give.

What a great way to support a teacher and support education.

How it works is a teacher shares a need, like Tara Smith’s need for a Document Camera. Then she crowd sources the funds it takes, $325, to get one.  So 17 people can all chip in $25 to help her get this tool.

Pretty Simple. Pretty Genius.

Check it out and consider supporting a MTR Teacher today!

Techno-Tuesday: Google Hangouts

I have been using Google Hangouts a lot.

Not all the lighting in real life is as perfect and beautiful as it is in the commercials, but it is still awesome.

The thing is, it always takes one person 10-15 minutes to join the group because of some point of complexity.  Other than that it is awesome.

I really wish when you invited someone to a hang out you could just email them a Hangout link. That would solve the problem 99.9% of the time.

Install the Google Hangout Plug-in Here

Let’s get in a Circle together.

Then we can hangout.

Candidate Match Game

CNN has a quick questionnaire that allows you to find out which candidate you match up with.

I am as you can see 57% Republican and 43% Democrat. Just one question away from being a 50/50 split.

I wonder how many people are 50/50, or just one or two questions away like this?  Am I in the majority or minority living in the middle?

Note: Abigail just told me “If you have to have a colored face, a Blue face is better than a Red Face.”

She would probably be friends with Tobias.

Tonic Media Lab

This week you may have seen City Leadership’s announcement about Tonic Media Lab.

If not, let me tell you what it is.  If so (and if not), let me tell you…I am excited.

Tonic Media Lab is the creative department of City Leadership. It is the five artists on the team, plus me. The ones that dream up the stuff that looks and sounds cool.  It is those guys.

They have been doing some amazing work and I am hoping to create a way where they can do more of it for more organizations.

Basically we take what is often a very time consuming and expensive process for both the branding house and the clients and roll it all into a one week Media Lab. Everything is done from Monday at 8:30am to Friday at 4:00pm.

By everything I mean a lot of stuff. (See the list here)

I am really excited (so excited I am mentioning that again). We are hoping to do at least one of these Media Labs per month this year. We have already received applications and are in the process of booking Labs throughout the next 12 months.

Check out what we are doing and let us know if we can help you or someone you know.

Thanks for sharing on Facebook and Twitter.
