Twitter Lottery

This is pretty smart.  I have to give it to this Canadian College Student.

On September 25, 2009 – The Twitter Lottery was born. Created by a university student Canada, the Twitter Lottery is based on a single Twitter account that you follow as your “ticket”. As the web site grows and evolves, so does the jackpot. The web site grows from publicity, and the jackpot is earned and built from the web site’s growing value, advertising revenue and popularity. Unlike a standard lottery, the Twitter Lotto is free to participate in. This is what sets it apart from the rest.

How can this benefit you? Its simple. By following you become a participant in theTwitter Lotto; this contributes to the value of the site. If you are an advertiser, you can reach potential customers by paying to tweet your ads amongst the participants of the lottery. In the end, a winner is selected and the advertising revenue is split with the winner. Tweets are sent out advising followers how much the jackpot has climbed each day, this ensures followers are checking their Twitter accounts periodically and advertisements are being viewed efficiently.
